Hello and welcome to my Blog. Mainly I capture photographic records of my birding and butterfly visits to places in the Sussex, Hampshire and Kent countryside.
I also have a fascination for all things natural, photographs of which, from time to time, I add to the Blog.
Following Martin's lead I grabbed a couple of hours at Lords Piece this afternoon. The small pond by the car park is stuffed with dragon and damsel flies and the heat of the afternoon had them buzzing. Some kind soul had already put sticks out and these insects were most obliging.
Broad-bodied Chasers, Libellula depressa were most numerous, with a good number of Four Spotted Chasers, Libellula quadrimaculata scattered about. One individual, identified by a portion of the left rear wing missing, took ownership of one stick and posed really close.
Some cracking Dragons Dave I find the BBC take better pis than the FSC.
ReplyDeleteHi Mike
Deletereckon you are right. Trouble is they were hyper active most of the time.
