Kingfisher

The intent was to try and improve on the Red-footed Falcon shots that I had previously taken, unfortunately nothing I captured was any better than those I took on Saturday. An attempt at flight shots was also a failure but it was great to see such a wonderful bird again.

The "Who's Who of Sussex Birding" also attended and there was a "serried rank" of long lenses on display.  When the traffic subsided I left for Pagham North Wall, the idea was to capture some nice Yellow Wagtail shots - fat chance, in the end the total wagtail tally was one bird - but it was extremely yellow. As I walked past breech pool I noticed a Kingfisher on one of the posts and he obligingly posed for me.

There was very little on the pool, Lapwings, Black-tailed Godwits, Common Snipe and one Dunlin.

One last check of the cattle in the fields for wagtails and it was home for lunch.
