During our search for "Elvis" the King Eider on the Ythan Estuary we came across this female Eider which appears to be leucistic or, if not, a very pale version of the bird. Any comment appreciated. The bird had definitely paired and the male was constantly close by but I guess that the lower numbers of females on the river means that the majority have already bred

The mouth of the Ythan estuary is home to a large colony of seals, noisy and smelly, 500 strong and very inquisitive.
