Kingfisher - Pagham Harbour

An early start at Church Norton to get good views of the Ring Ouzel, but never close enough to get any record shots. The Black Redstart was also showing well in the churchyard.  A quick walk to the beach provided little of interest so drew stumps and proceeded to the Visitor Centre, as I parked two coach loads of "pond dippers" were arriving so jumped back in the car and  beat a hasty retreat to the North Wall and Breech Pool.  On arrival it was superb views of an adult female  Peregrine  perched on a fence post to the rear of the pool.

Major highlights of the day were close encounters with a Kingfisher and then a Water Vole, something that I hadn't seen before in the sluice. All in all a satisfying days birding with a total of 57 species.
